On November 11, the Yuhuan Water Heating Valve Industry Innovation Service Complex, with the Taizhou Innovation Center of the Research Institute as its construction unit, was officially inaugurated. This complex aims to assist traditional enterprises in technological transformation and enhance their core competitiveness. Yuhuan Municipal Party Committee Secretary Wu Caiping and Vice President of the Research Institute Feng Yecheng, among others, attended the event.
Yuhuan is renowned as the "Valve Capital of China," with over 3,800 valve enterprises in its jurisdiction, whose annual production output accounts for one-quarter of the domestic industry. However, the constraints of a "low-end, scattered, and disordered" industrial structure have become increasingly prominent.
In 2018, the Yuhuan Municipal Government collaborated with the Taizhou Innovation Center of the Research Institute to explore the construction of an innovation service complex, focusing on innovation services to drive industrial optimization and upgrading. In February of this year, the Yuhuan Water Heating Valve Industry Innovation Service Complex was selected for the second batch of Zhejiang Provincial Industrial Innovation Service Complex creation list, making it the first complex in Yuhuan to be included in a provincial-level creation list.
Huang Chao, Director of the Taizhou Innovation Center, stated in his speech that during the construction of the Water Heating Valve Industry Innovation Service Complex, the center leveraged the talent and technological resources of Tsinghua University and the Research Institute to introduce new formats, models, and pathways. By integrating industry with villages, networks, and investment, comprehensive progress was made in various construction efforts, achieving phased results.
In the next step, the Taizhou Center will plan the direction of the complex's development from a higher perspective, establishing a cluster of innovation bases that attract high-level talent, nurturing a group of innovative enterprises and factories, and forming a series of well-known branded products. This will facilitate the secondary take-off of the water heating valve industry and contribute to promoting high-quality economic and social development in the Yuhuan region.
